Major Lynn G. Adams
Lynn George Adams was born
in Hopbottom, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, on July 8, 1880. Adams was an original member of Department of State Police. He enlisted in December 15, 1905 and given an appointment as sergeant by Groome at Troop A Greensburg.

On August 25, 1922, Adams bestowed upon the Deputy Superintendent the rank of Major. (This was the initial use of that rank in the Department's history)

Adams created the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information (BCI&I) and named Captain Wilson C. Price to serve as the bureau's first chief.
