The Ultimate Sacrifice
PSP-HEMC pays tribute to all of our troopers who have laid down their lives rather than swerve from the path of duty.
  
Their courage reflects the excellent character of the men and women who have proudly served this Commonwealth since 1905.


 
Over 90 troopers have been killed in the line of duty since the Department’s creation in 1905. A special exhibit honoring the most recent member killed in the line of duty is on display in honor of Corporal Joseph Pokorny who was shot and killed December 12, 2005, while making a traffic stop in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
