The Granite "Call of Honor"
monument in front of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey, Pennsylvania is the
subject of an original painting by retired NJ State Police artist Joseph M.
Getsinger.
The painting, entitled "Honor of the Force", was commissioned by the
Pennsylvania State Police Historical, Educational and Memorial Center to commemorate
the Centennial Anniversary Celebration of the oldest uniformed force in the nation. "Honor
of the Force" hallmarks 100 years of honorable service and loyalty to the people of
the Commonwealth of Pa. Getsinger's touching, well-rendered treatment (the most
recent of over 200 works) is derived from an image originally conceived by retired PA
Trooper Barry Carr (To view the original image concept click here).
The emotionally charged image unites, for a brief moment in time, a modern day
Pennsylvania Trooper and the spirit of a Trooper from almost 100 years ago. View lithograph
